Continuous Improvement Lead
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Continuous Improvement Lead to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity across our manufacturing operations. As part of a small, growing, family-owned business, this role is both strategic and tactical—ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to make a real impact. The successful candidate will lead efforts to identify process improvements, implement lean manufacturing principles, and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Continuous Improvement Lead will work hand-in-hand with manufacturing technicians and leaders along with other departments, identifying improvement opportunities through conversation, measurement, and data-based decision making.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, process mapping + other methodologies
- Work closely with maintenance teams to plan and implement physical changes to equipment, layout, or infrastructure that support process improvements – this should include hands-on work
- Interface with the company ERP system to analyze frequency and volume of work vs. measurements and observations on the manufacturing floor to form business case of suggested improvements
- Track and report on project pipeline, implementation progress, and outcomes to leadership
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance departments to ensure sustainable and practical improvements
- Other activities needed to support manufacturing capability and capacity growth
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment with a focus on process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Associates degree or greater in relevant field
- Experience coordinating with maintenance or facilities teams on physical plant changes
